Ladies vs Ricky Bahl is a Bollywood romantic comedy movie directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film stars Ranveer Singh opposite Anushka Sharma in lead roles along with Dipannita Sharma, Aditi Sharma and debutant Parineeti Chopra in supporting roles.

The music director of Ladies vs Ricky Bahl are Sulaiman Merchant & Sulim Merchant. Lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

For some inexplicable reason Yash Raj launched the music video of Aadat Se Majboor much before there was a teaser or a full-blown trailer to give us a hint of what was in store. Was it because the people at Yash Raj were sure of the success of Aadat Se Majboor?

The song has a cocky template - the whole €aadat se majboor' refrain to Ranveer Singh's super-charming con act, is a bit in-your-face smooth - and Benny Dayal rubs it in as if he's layering thick gobs of silk cream on sponge cake. Ranveer raps and the rhythm remains.

Then comes Jazbaa, Anushka Sharma's solo dance act, and this immediately followed Aadat Se Majboor on our telly-tubes. The choreography of both the songs is unimaginative but the songs manage to rise above it.

Jazbaa is also arranged on a standard template which Shilpa Rao infuses with her spirited singing. And here's the thing to this - every time Salim Merchant pips in with his €jazbaa' announcement, one is reminded of Tarkeebein (Band Baaja Baaraat). A sense of rehash seeps in.

Vishal Dadlani and Shweta Pandit duel on Thug Le - but there are no fireworks - it's like one of those situations where rival parties compete in a show-off on a dance floor and quietly recede for a judge to decide - a face-off is avoided. €Mazaa nahi aaya, boss, too thanda, kinda naff.'

Jigar Da Tukda is unsure if it wants to roll in the hay or go all the way - the insanely addictive Ainvayi (Band Baaja Baaraat) has a rejoinder in this song. Jigar Ka Tukda shares the same threshold as Ainvayi but fails to take off. Perhaps Salim Merchant singing it is its undoing. Enough with the Punjabi bhangra arrangement.

The instrumental track, Fatal Attraction is far more interesting that all of the tracks put together - a shot of techno laced with fluid strains of strings, flutes, voices fading in-out. Like Vishal-Shekhar on the instrumental tracks of Ra.One movie, Salim-Sulaiman are also proving to be more experimental in this department. Same cue then, stop repeating.
