- 1). Press the "Menu" button on your LCD TV's remote control to access your LCD TV's picture menu. Go to the "Picture" or "Display" category, using the remote.
- 2). Select the "Standard" option to choose a new picture quality in the LCD TV.
- 3). Alter the brightness setting in your LCD TV display to match your room's light dynamics. Increase the display's visibility by increasing the brightness level. The brightness will go up but this might wash out detail and darker colors. For a darker room, a lower brightness setting in your display is appropriate while for a brighter room, you should have a higher brightness setting in your LCD display.
- 4). Use your eye to adjust the sharpness and contrast of the LCD display. It is best to do this alteration while looking at a still image, such as a paused DVD. This will let you properly assess the display's picture quality.
