Operating Instructions for a Motorola XTS 5000R
- 1). Turn the radio on by turning the On/Off knob clockwise. Continuing to turn the knob clockwise increases the volume. Turning the knob counterclockwise turns the volume down and the radio off.
- 2). Turn the "Zone" and "Channel" knob to switch your zone and channel settings. Doing so will sync up your remote to other remotes with the same zone and channel setting.
- 3). Press the large "PTT" button on the left side of the remote and speak into the remote microphone to transmit your voice. If the "PTT" button is not pressed down, your remote will receive other voice transmissions.
- 4). Press the "Emergency" button to send and emergency signal. Press and hold this button to exit the emergency mode.
- 5). Press the "arrow" buttons on your radio to access the on-screen menu. Select the "PHON" option to access the phone menu. If you wish to call a land-line phone, do so by selecting numbers on the radio and select the "Make a Phone Call" option to make the call. Press the "PTT" button when you wish to transmit your voice to the phone. Otherwise, keep the button released to receive signals from the phone.
