    • 1). Put your safety glasses on and set the parking brake. Place the wheel chocks on the ground, right behind the rear wheels.

    • 2). Loosen the front wheel lug nuts with the lug wrench. Don't take them off completely.

    • 3). Jack the front end off the ground and lower it onto the jack stands. Put the jack stands under the front frame for the best stability and safety.

    • 4). Remove the loosened lug nuts by hand, and take the wheels off, also by hand.

    • 5). Put the catch pan right under the left, front brakes. Spray the brakes thoroughly with the brake cleaner to remove the built up brake dust and other gunk.

    • 6). Remove the brake caliper bolts with the socket set. Grab the body of the caliper and lift it off the brake rotor. Set the caliper in the front suspension. Never let the caliper hang on the brake line as the weight of the caliper can cause micro tears in the line, which could lead to loss of brakes.

    • 7). Unbolt the caliper bracket with the socket set and then pull it off and set it aside. Grab the rotor and pull it off by hand. Slip the new rotor on in its place. Reinstall the caliper bracket in reverse of removal.

    • 8). Reinstall the brake caliper into the caliper bracket and bolt it back down. Remember, you should consider replacing the pads during this procedure.

    • 9). Move over to the right front and repeat steps five through eight on that side.

Reinstall the wheels and lug nuts by hand, tightening the lug nuts down until they hold the wheel to the rotors. Lower the truck off the jack stands with the jack and then tighten the lug nuts with the lug wrench. Use the torque wrench to complete the tightening to 100 ft/lbs.
