On the Charts - Billboard Country Singles and Albums
Top 10 Country Singles
For the second week in a row, Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles have a No. 1 song in "Who Says You Can't Go Home." Jason Aldean moves up a spot to No. 2 with "Why," while Rascal Flatts wind up at No. 3 with their song, "What Hurts The Most." Dierks Bentley isn't going to "Settle For A Slow Down" this week. He jumped two spots landing on No. 4. Jack Ingram's "Wherever You Are" dropped to No.
5 and "The Lucky One," by Faith Hill, also dropped a single spot to No. 6. LeAnn Rimes has a No. 7 placement for the second week with "Something's Gotta Give." The No. 8 spot finds Tim McGraw with "When The Stars Go Blue," No. 9 is Joe Nichols with five spot jumper "Size Matters (Someday)," and No. 10 is Phil Vassar with "The Last Day Of My Life." It might be a stretch, but I think either Jack Ingram or Jason Aldean will have a No. 1 next week.
Moving Up at the Speed of Light
This week there are three songs moving up at the speed of light: Emerson Drive's "A Good Man" jumped seven spots to No. 50, while Toby Keith's "A Little Too Late" also jumped seven spots to land on No. 23. The biggest jump was by The Wreckers. Their song, "Take The Pieces," jumped a total of nine spots to No. 32.
The Latest Tunes To Hit The Air Waves
Just like last week, there are four new songs hitting the radio air waves this week. At No. 58 is Sammy Kershaw's latest, "Tennessee Girls,""Anywhere But Here" (Chris Cagle) is No.
57, Rio Grand's "Kill Me Now" debuted at No. 53, and Trace Adkins has this week's highest debut with No. 47 song, "Swing."
Top 10 Country Album Charts
Eight out of the Top 10 Country Albums spots are exactly the same this week as they were last week. Rascal Flatts' Me And My Gang is spending a fourth week at No. 1, Toby Keith's White Trash With Money remains at No. 2, Tim McGraw's Tim McGraw - Greatest Hits, Vol. 2: Reflected is at No. 3, and Alan Jackson's Precious Memories stays put in the No. 4 spot. Carrie Underwood's Some Hearts is No. 5, No. 6 is Johnny Cash's The Legend Of Johnny Cash and Keith Urban's Be Here is No. 7. Rascal Flatts' Feels Like Today jumped a single spot to No. 8 and the Walk the Line Soundtrack dropped one spot to No. 9. Rounding out the Top 10 is Josh Turner's Your Man.
Whats New on the Album Charts This Week?
Only one lonesome album debuted this week and that was Michael Lee Austin's Labor Pains.
NOTE: All chart rankings are based on the song or album's position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles Chart or Billboard Country Albums Chart for May 13, 2006.
