How to Replace the Battery in the OEM Remote for a 2006 Chevrolet Impala
- 1). Locate the slot on the bottom of the remote transmitter, just below the trunk release button.
- 2). Insert the edge of a coin into the slot and twist it slightly until both halves of the transmitter are separated.
- 3). Remove the circular, watch-type battery from the transmitter. Use a non-metal object to pry up on the battery to release it from the transmitter if necessary.
- 4). Push a new battery into the battery compartment of the transmitter, making sure the positive (the side with the "plus" sign) side is facing downward.
- 5). Push the two halves of the transmitter together until they snap into place.
- 6). Test the operation of the door locks and trunk release mechanism with the transmitter.
