How to Upload a Video File onto a Canon Powershot
- 1). Plug the smaller end of the USB cord into the Powershot connection port. Insert the larger end into a USB port on your computer. Wait for the computer to recognize the connection and load the appropriate drivers.
- 2). Locate the camera drive on your computer. For Vista and Windows 7 operating systems, double-click on the "Computer" icon on the desktop. For Windows XP, double-click "MyComputer" to access the drive information. Look for the label marked "Camera" or Cannon Camera" on the page. Double-click on the drive to access the folder system on the Powershot.
- 3). Find the folder marked "DCIM" on the Cannon drive. Double-click on the folder icon to open this folder.
- 4). Copy the video file from the computer into the DCIM folder on the camera. Locate the video file on the computer hard drive and right-click. Select "Copy" from the options that appear next to the cursor. Return to the "DCIM" folder on the Cannon camera drive and right-click to select "Paste."
- 5). Move to the bottom of the desktop on the computer. Look for an icon that allows you to safely unplug external devices. The icon picture will be an arrow pointing sideways. Double-click on the icon and select the Cannon drive to disconnect.
- 6). Uplug the Powershot camera from the USB cord and turn the unit on. Locate the new file through the Powershot menu and press "Play" to view the video.
