    Size

    • The stock exhaust tip of the Honda s2000 has a 4-inch diameter at its back opening. The tip attaches to the exhaust pipe by way of steel welding at the front where it tapers to 2.5 inches. The whole of the exhaust tip is 10.25 inches long. The exhaust is coated with either chrome or brushed metal on top of a steel structure with the coating being one-eighth of an inch thick.

    Style

    • The Honda s2000 stock exhaust tips come in two styles; a shiny chrome finish, which is the most popular and comes standard on the s2000, and a brushed metal version, which has a matte finish. The matte finish was an option at the time of purchase which was considered to be a more high end look and cost betwen $100 and $150, depending on the dealership. Both of the models however retained the round shape and now subsequent models have ever had a square or rectangular shaped exhaust tip despite the other Honda models being available with one.

    Repair/replacement

    • The Honda s2000 stock exhaust tip is welded onto the exhaust system. Replacing the tip with another style requires the old tip to be sawed off of the exhaust pipe and a comparable sized after market tip to be attached. Any replacement exhaust would need to be at least 2.75 inches wide with a clamp style end on the tip. If damaged by dents or scraping, the s2000 could be brought to an auto body shop and straightened and re-chromed or refinished, depending on the style of the exhaust.
