Why Your Neighbor Deserves More Than You!
Why does your neighbor deserve more than you?The answer is simple, it's because most people don't think very highly of themselves.
Most people come up with all sorts of reasons why another person can do something or deserve something better than you do.
If you listen to people's words, you can find examples everyday of people talking negatively about themselves, or coming up with ways to rationalize their plot in life.
Just two days ago at a conference I asked someone when they were going try and obtain a professor position at the university level.
Her answer was that is was too much work, and that she wasn't smart enough even though she has the same credentials as many professors.
I work at a major university, and while some professors are truly brilliant, I have found many who I question how they got their jobs, and the same goes with other professions like doctors and dentists.
Often the person who has achieved more has not done so because of talent or brains, but just out of persistence.
Where does this terrible thinking of not deserving come from? Many experts think it comes from the conditioning of living our adult lives.
Most children have high hopes for their lives, but as adults we tend to settle for things less than what we deserve.
I urge you to think rationally about the situation for a moment.
If you analyze a few people who you think achieved more than you have, you will likely find that you have at least one characteristic that is better than the other person.
Most of our ideas about what we are and what we deserve don't come from rational thought.
If we truly did look at our lives rationally we would think much more highly of ourselves than we do.
Start believing that you deserve the best that life has to offer.
I'm sure your creator did not create you so you could barely just get by in life.
