How to Defrost a Compact Fridge

104 1
    • 1). Open the fridge door and remove all the items from inside. Place them in a separate refrigerator or an ice cooler, if one is available. Unplug the fridge's cord and move the fridge away from the wall. Wrap the cord around the grill on the back of the fridge or tape it against the fridge's back.

    • 2). Position a hand truck, also called a two-wheel dolly, beside the fridge. Tilt the fridge to one side, and slide the leading edge of the bottom of the hand truck underneath the fridge. Lower the fridge onto the hand truck.

    • 3). Place one foot on the base of the hand truck and grip the top of the fridge with one hand. Tilt the hand truck back, pulling the fridge with it. Push the hand truck forward and transport the fridge outside.

    • 4). Open the fridge door and remove any trays and drawers from inside the fridge.

    • 5). Spray water onto the ice in the freezer section, using a water hose. Tilt the fridge slightly forward, to help the water flow out after it hits the ice. Continue spraying the freezer section and all areas inside the fridge, until you remove all the built-up ice.

    • 6). Wipe the fridge interior dry, using a towel. Slide the trays and drawers back into the fridge. Place the fridge onto the hand cart, transport it back inside and plug it in.
