- 1). Connect your iPod to its "primary computer" -- the one you last synced it with and most often use to communicate with it.
- 2). Open iTunes. Your iPod will appear in the left panel. Click the Eject button next to it, and wait for it to disappear from the panel.
- 3). Disconnect your iPod from the computer; you will have bypassed the screen lock.
- 4). Select "Extras," then "Screen Lock," then "Reset Combination." Use the Click Wheel to select the first number in the combination, then press the center button to move on to the next number. Do this for all four numbers and your new combination will be set.
- 5). Access an iPod whose primary computer you no longer have access to by plugging it into any computer with iTunes, clicking the iPod in iTunes' left pane and clicking "Restore." Note that this will erase all music and data on your iPod!
