How to Repair an 8 GB iPhone
- 1). Recharge your iPhone if you have a frozen screen. Low battery power is one of several reasons your phone may become unresponsive, freeze or shut down unexpectedly. To charge your phone connect the device via its UBS cable to your computer or use your AC adapter. For those charging their iPhones from a computer, be sure to connect the phone to a high powered port on the computer itself rather than the keyboard. Low power ports will not be able to charge your device.
- 2). Update your software. You will need to have the latest version of iTunes. Download the newest software if you do not already have it on your computer. Connect your iPhone to your computer, and when your iTunes application starts, look in the left column for the devices option. Click "Check for updates" in the Summary tab and follow the instructions to update your device.
- 3). Reset your connection settings. To do this, tap the "Settings" options in your iPhone menu. Select the "General" tab after you enter the Settings menu. Locate the "Reset" option in the new menu, then scroll until you find the option "Reset network settings." Choose this option.
- 4). Check with your service provider. Often times a problem with calls may not be the fault of the phone. An issue with your provider may be causing issues with dropped calls of dialing failures. Before taking any drastic measure, consult your provider to be sure there is no problem with the service in your area.
- 5). Restore your iPhone. Use this as a last resort outside of returning to the retailer or phone replacement or repair services. When you restore your iPhone, all data that was stored on the phone will be deleted during the reformat. This includes phone numbers, applications and all other forms of media. To do this, you will follow the same steps you used to update your phone. However, in the "Summary" tab, click the option "Restore." If you have information you want to save, you can back up your phone's data using your iTunes application.
