- 1). Cut a piece of wire 6 to 10 inches long using wire cutters. Choose a pencil or marker that is approximately the same circumference as one of your dreadlocks.
- 2). Set the center of the wire across the middle of the pencil or marker. Hold the wire in place with one hand, while with the other hand use pliers to wrap each wire end tightly around the pencil 10 times.
- 3). Use the pliers to pinch one of the ends of the remaining wire, and begin to twist it inward toward the pencil, creating a small loop. Continue to twist or roll the loop inwards forming a spiral pattern. Keep twisting the spiral until you are satisfied with the pattern.
. - 4). Repeat the spiral process with the other end of the wire, but twist the spiral in the opposite direction. If you twisted the first spiral clockwise, twist the second spiral counterclockwise.
- 5). Slide the wire off the end of the pencil. Adjust the wires so that the pattern is neatly aligned.The jewelry will now be symmetrical when you slide it into place on your dreadlock.
