- 1). Make sure that your device is connected to the mobile network. If you are not in a coverage area, you should be able to resume sending and receiving SMS messages once you return to a coverage area.
- 2). Verify that the device's settings are not set up for fixed dialing by accessing the "Options" menu and making sure that "Disable FDN Mode" is selected.
- 3). Power the cycle device by turning it off and then back on.
- 4). Contact your wireless service provider, if the problem persists, to determine whether the features necessary to send and receive text messages are a part of your service plan.
