Unlocking the Screen With the Combination

• 1). Press the center button, which is located in the center of the iPod Nano 4G's clickwheel. This will bring up the player's lock screen--an image of a padlock with a four zeros below it.
  
  
• 2). Use the clickwheel to scroll to the first number of the lock's combination.
  
  
• 3). Press the center button to confirm the first number in the combination, and move on to the second number. Repeat this process for the remaining numbers.
  
  

Unlocking Your iPod Nano 4G Using iTunes

• 1). Plug the USB end of the supplied dock-connector-to-USB cable into a high-speed USB port on your computer.
  
  
• 2). Plug the dock connector end of the cable into the dock connector port on the iPod Nano 4G; this port is located on the bottom of the player next to the headphone jack.
  
  
• 3). Open iTunes on your computer. Opening iTunes on your computer will automatically unlock your iPod Nano 4G.
