- 1). Check your computer's video card for its video outputs. Most computer video cards will connect to their monitors via a VGA or DVI out. Some will also have an S-Video or RCA out as well. If you have one of these analog video outputs, connect your cable to the output. RCA component outputs include both video and audio, while S-Video will only carry a video signal.
- 2). Connect the cable to your DVD player. Check your DVD player for an S-video or RCA input. Connect the appropriate cable from your PC's video card to the DVD player. You may also have to adjust your computer's Display settings to ensure a video signal is being sent through this analog output.
- 3). Connect your DVD player to your television. Play the desired video on your PC. If you have connected the devices correctly, you should see the video playing on your TV screen. If you were using an RCA component, you should be able to hear the audio as well. Otherwise, you will have to play audio from the PC's speakers or find another method of routing audio signals to your television.
