    Use Waypoints

    • Waypoints are locations stored in the H20-C's memory, and can be used to quickly navigate to places you visit regularly or plan to visit in future. You can set a waypoint by choosing a location on the map, or if you're currently at the waypoint location. To set a waypoint at a location on the map, scroll to it with the cursor, and then press "Ent" twice. It will save under a generic name, and can be recalled later. You'll notice a marker appear on the map. They can also be set in the current location by pressing "Ent" twice. You can rename waypoints to something relevant using the menu.

    Calculate Distance

    • You can use the H20-C to find out how far you are away from any point on the map. You can do this by pressing "Menu" and scrolling down to "Find Distance" using the four-way "Arrow Key." Press "Ent" to return to the map. Center your cursor over the location you want to know the distance to, and a line will appear, linking your position and the cursor's position. The distance between the two points will be shows in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. If you press "Ent" on the cursor position, you can find the distance between that position and any other.

    Icons

    • You can add your own icons to relevant locations on the H20-C by scrolling to it on the "Map Page" and pressing and holding the "Ent" key. The screen will display "Save Icon," and then you release the "Ent" button to be taken to the "Select Symbol" screen. Choose a symbol to represent your location, highlight it, and press "Ent." These icons display on the map screen, and allow you to easily navigate to places you wish to remember. For example, you could mark a good spot for picnics. If you want to create an icon in your current position, just hold "Ent" without moving the cursor at all.

    Backtracking your Trail

    • As you travel, the H20-C records your trail information, and you can use this data on your return journey. If you're using "Easy Mode," your last trail will be automatically brought up when you switch the unit on. In "Advanced Mode" you just have to find it on the menu to backtrack your trail. Press "Menu," scroll down to "Navigate Trail" and press "Ent." When you do this, an alarm may sound if you're close to the new start point of the trail. Press "Exit" to get rid of it, and follow the steering instructions as normal. You can also backtrack by simply following the bold line on the map backwards; you only need to program the backtracking in to get the steering commands to display on your journey.
