How to Clean Auto Touch-Up Paint From Brushes
- 1). Pour enough mineral spirits into a tall drinking glass to cover the bristles of your paint brush.
- 2). Place the paint brush in the glass and swirl it around three to four times in the mineral spirits. Remove the brush from the glass and examine it to see if the paint has been removed.
- 3). Continue to swirl the paint brush in the mineral spirits until all of the auto touch-up paint has been removed.
- 4). Squeeze a few drops of dish soap onto the brush and rinse it under running water to remove all of the mineral spirits from the brush. Squeeze the bristles as you rinse them to allow the water to penetrate the inner bristles.
- 5). Squeeze the bristles to straighten them out into the proper shape and allow the brush to dry completely before storing it away for later use.
