- 1). Press the home button, located just under your iPhone's screen, or the "On/Off" button on the top of your device to wake it.
- 2). Press your finger to the silver arrow at the left side of the "Slide to unlock" icon. Slide the arrow to the right to unlock your phone.
- 3). Enter the passcode, if you set your device to require it, when prompted. If you forget your passcode, you must restore the phone to factory settings, resulting in the loss of your apps and other data. Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes. Click on the iPhone in the sidebar and go to the "Summary" tab. Click "Check for Updates" and then "Restore."
