Taking babies camping: Some people hesitate about taking their smaller children camping.
If you have an infant, you will definitely have to plan this out differently than you typically would, but do not let it keep you from going camping.
With infants, you want to make sure you pack warmer jammies for night time.
It may even be a good idea to pack a set of lighter weight pajamas and a set of warmer ones as well.
This goes the same for clothing.
You may anticipate really warm weather and end up with really chilly night air.
Babies will become colder faster than us adults.
You also want to make sure your bug spray is especially made for children.
Babies tend to put their hands and feet in their mouths a lot and you don't want for them to get dangerous pesticides in their mouth.
A bug net is also a great repellent for bugs.
If baby is going to be in a stroller or pack-n-play, you can drape it with a bug net.
Babies, especially younger ones may not have the dexterity to swat a fly or mosquito chewing on him.
We have to keep them protected at all times.
This rule applies to sunscreen as well.
Babies under the age of 6mo.
Should not be exposed to the sun.
When they are exposed to the sun, they should be properly covered with clothing and sunscreen.
Remember that if you are swimming, to reapply the sunscreen after at least 2 hours.
Don't forget to bring babies favorite blanky or binky as well..
You don't want to get out there and realize you have left them at home and baby is miserable...
A miserable baby makes for a crabby mommy.
