Bass River State Park, New Jersey Camping
- Bass River State Forest Park spans 27,635 acres providing many recreational opportunities within the park. The 67-acre Lake Absegami is the center for water recreation within the state forest. The area is located about 25 miles north of Atlantic City and six miles from Tuckerton. Entrance and camping fees apply to all visitors.

state.nj.us - Bass River State Forest Campground has 176 tent and RV sites with amenities such as fire rings, picnic tables, grills, laundry facilities, flush toilets and showers. Campsites are open year round and no hookups are available. There are also group campsites, lean-to sites, shelters and cabins at the park. Shelters are lakeside and include two bunk rooms, a living room, picnic table, wood burning stove, fire ring and an outdoor grill. Shelters are open during the months of April through October.

Campers can enjoy many activities at the park including water sports like fishing, boating, canoeing and kayaking. Hiking, hunting, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are also available. A public boat launch is located by the recreational parking lot. Additionally, campers can enjoy swimming in Lake Absegami from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. - Bass River State Forest offers eight hiking trails that range from one to 3.2 miles in length. The hiking trails feature a wooden foot bridge, pine and oak trees as well as some wildlife sightings. The Batona trail runs for 50 miles through the Bass River State Forest along with two other state forests. This trail also passes through thick vegetation areas and over streams.
- Campers can also fish and hunt at the park. Fish species available are sunfish, pickerel and catfish. All anglers must have a fishing license and abide by the state's fishing regulations. Hunting is allowed in many parts of the forest. Game species include deer, grouse and rabbit. Hunters must have a hunting license and abide by the state's hunting regulations.
