How to Get Concert Alerts on My iPhone

104 8
    • 1). Update your iTunes music library and then sync it with your iPhone. All concert-notification apps extract an initial list of your favorite artists from your iPod or iTunes music library, so a quick music update that adds any missing artists would be beneficial.

    • 2). Tap "Settings" and then "General." Then tap "Location Service" to toggle it "On." All iPhone concert-notification apps need to know your current location to be able to accurately update you on which of your favorite artists are coming to your area.

    • 3). Tap "App Store" on your home screen to download the "iLikes Local Concerts" app, which is free. When launched, tap the "i" icon in the upper-right corner of your screen to adjust the app's search radius from its default 50 miles. Select "Shows" at the bottom of your screen to view all upcoming concerts in your defined area by date, or select "Venues" to view them by site. Tap the "My Artists" tab on the upper-right portion of your screen to view your concert alerts; a listing will display showing which of the artists in your music library will be performing in your area soon.

    • 4). Download the "Live Nation" app, which is also free. Launch the app and follow the prompts to create a profile and sign in. Next, tap on "More" on the lower-right corner of your screen, followed by "Settings," and then "Notifications." Toggle "On" the option to notify you when a nearby concert by a favorite artist has been announced or goes on sale. Tap the "Messages" icon on the bottom center of your screen for notifications of concerts by your favorite artists in your location.

    • 5). Purchase iConcertCal from the "App Store" for $2.99. When it has beenlaunched, tap "Options" on the lower-right corner to adjust your search radius. You can also adjust your artist list by swiping to delete certain artists and adding others with a tap on the white star above their concert listings. Click "My Shows" in the lower-left corner of your screen to see if any of the artists in your iPod or iTunes library are playing in your area. Flip your iPhone sideways to view a full calendar month of upcoming concerts, along with a list of your favorite-artist concerts to its left and all local concerts to its right.
