    • 1). Park the Honda and turn the engine off. Pull the hood release lever located under the CR-V's dashboard on the driver's side and lift the hood. Remove the master cylinder cap located on the right side of the Honda's engine. Remove 1/2 of the brake fluid in the reservoir with a poultry baster. Replace the master cylinder cap loosely over the reservoir.

    • 2). Place tire blocks behind the rear tires. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels with a lug wrench. Place a lifting jack under the frame in the front of the vehicle and lift the front tires off the ground. Place jack stands under the axles and lower the Honda onto the stands. Remove the lug nuts and take the front wheels off.

    • 3). Remove the two caliper slide bolts with a 13 mm wrench. Lift the caliper from the caliper bracket and suspend it from the steering arm above the brake assembly with a bungee cord. Remove the two brake pads from the slots in the caliper bracket. Remove the two caliper bracket bolts with a 15 mm socket and ratchet. Lift the caliper bracket from the rotor and set it aside.

    • 4). Grab the rotor on either side of the disc and pull it straight off the wheel bolts. Spray the wheel bolts and steering knuckle with brake parts cleaner and clean the area with a wire brush. Clean the rotor with brake cleaner and a shop rag. Place the new rotor onto the wheel bolts and push it against the steering knuckle.

    • 5). Replace the caliper bracket and screw on the caliper bracket bolts. Apply brake grease to the backside of the new brake pads and slide them into the caliper bracket slots. Place a C-clamp over the caliper piston and the backside of the caliper. Squeeze the piston into the side of the caliper to make room for the new rotor and brake pads. Remove the C-clamp from the caliper and place the caliper onto the caliper bracket and new brake pads.

    • 6). Screw on the caliper slide bolts and tighten them with the 13 mm wrench. Place the wheel back onto the wheel bolts and screw on the lug nuts. Repeat the steps for all additional brake pads and rotors that you need to replace. Lift the front of the Honda with the jack and remove the jack stands. Lower the front tires to the ground and tighten the lug nuts with the lug wrench.

    • 7). Start the engine and press the brake pedal repeatedly to force the caliper pistons back into the proper position against the new brake pads. Remove the master cylinder cap and place a funnel into the reservoir. Fill the master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid. Remove the funnel and replace the master cylinder cap. Close the Honda's hood.
