- 1). Sketch out the desired cuts on the face of the drywall with a pencil. You may also need a measuring tape or straightedge to ensure the markings are accurate in length and placement.
- 2). Place the point of a drywall saw against one of the cutting lines, with the serrated blade facing the direction you want to cut.
- 3). Tap a hammer against the butt of the saw to drive it through the drywall. Once the saw is through the drywall, saw along the cutting line. Go slowly to reduce the possibility of flaws or mistakes while cutting.
- 4). Repeat the process for as many cuts as you need to make in the drywall.
