I found out about this campground through online search, and I tent camped there in June 2008.
Describe your camping trip:
I was lucky in getting lakeside campground (site 84) after someone cancelled a reservation. Campsite was next to the swim beach and very close to the marina and visitors center.
Pros: Beautiful park and many activities offered for every age via the state park interpreters.
Sunset Lake cruise tour was very reasonably priced and a wonderful ending to a beautiful day. Swim beach was very nice and well maintained.
Cons: Quite a walk to the bathrooms from my campsite. Lots of poison ivy close to campsite and along trail to swim beach. Wish that there was a bathroom area at swim beach. Not all campsites have shade over tent pad. Be sure to inquire during hot summer months.
Nearby attractions: Hot Springs area attractions
Further comments: My kids and I had a great time.
