- 1). Place the mounting plate onto the frame of the vehicle in the spot that you want. The mounting plate must be on the steel frame and not the metal or fiberglass frame or body.
- 2). Drive the mounting bolt through the mounting holes on the plate and into the frame of the vehicle using a power drill and socket. Once you have the mounting plate mounted, have a friend hold the winch on the mounting plate.
- 3). Install the mounting bolts using a power drill and socket. Wire the winch to the vehicle according to the instructions for that vehicle.
