Can You Use Rhapsody & an iPod Together?
- Rhapsody is a paid subscription service that allows you to stream music on your computer. You can also download individual songs or albums that can be transferred to your MP3 player or iPod.
- When you download Rhapsody, you can select the option to have your purchased music automatically downloaded to your iTunes library so it can be transferred to your iPod.
- Rhapsody offers a "to go" plan that allows you to transfer music to an MP3 player without paying for individual downloads---provided you have a current monthly subscription. However, the iPod is not one of the compatible devices for this service.
- The iPhone and iPod Touch can connect directly to the Rhapsody To Go plan through a downloadable application. After an initial free trial, a monthly membership is required to use the application.
- Because Rhapsody is a streaming service, you can listen to full songs before purchasing, whereas iTunes only plays short snippets before you purchase songs.
