Remove the Hard Drive

• 1). Turn off the power on the Xbox and then unplug the unit from the wall outlet.
  
  
• 2). Unplug the cords from the back of the unit and move it to a flat surface, such as a table or desk.
  
  
• 3). Locate the hard drive on the left side or top of the unit. Place the Xbox on its end so that the hard drive is on top, if the unit is on its side.
  
  
• 4). Press the release button near the corner of the hard drive cover.
  
  
• 5). Lift the hard drive unit up and out of the hard drive bay.
  
  

Re-install Hard Drive

• 1). Set the hard drive in the hard drive bay. The back of the hard drive should make contact with the back of the hard drive bay.
  
  
• 2). Press down on the front of the hard drive until it snaps into place.
  
  
• 3). Plug the cords back into the unit and turn it on to verify that the hard drive is working correctly.
