How to Use Paint Glaze
- 1). Mix 4 parts glazing medium with 2 parts paint in a bucket to tint it to the desired color for your project. You must use oil-based paint with alkyd, or oil-based, glaze and water-based paint with latex, or water-based, glaze. If you use the wrong type of paint, the glaze and paint will separate and become unusable.
- 2). Crumple up a soft rag and dip it into the prepared paint glaze.
- 3). Rub the glaze onto a clean, dry wall with the crumpled rag to create a soft pattern. Continue until the entire area is covered with the glaze.
- 4). Stand back and evaluate the appearance of the glaze. If you see any bare spots, you can apply more glaze with the rag. If the glaze appears too thick in other areas, use a clean rag to gently remove the excess.
