- 1). Paint the wall the same color as your living room. Don't try to get creative and paint the wall a completely different color than the rest of the room. Your wall already stands out because of its length and size, so avoid distancing the wall from the rest of the room by painting it a different color.
- 2). Hang family photos on the wall. Place each photograph in a black frame. Each picture frame should be the exact same size and color for symmetry. Hang the pictures in a long, straight line, which will accentuate the length of your wall while also reminding viewers that this room is focused on the family.

- 4). Place a small basket at the opposite end of the wall. This basket should remain empty as much as possible but will serve as a "catch all" for important family items.
