Problems With the Samsung TX-R2764
- If the colors that the Samsung TX-R2764 display seem off, the TV's manual recommends that you adjust the picture settings. Select "Menu," then "Picture," and choose "Custom" with the TV's remote control. The Custom screen allows you to increase and decrease the values of the TVs' contrast, brightness, sharpness, color and tint. If the TX-R2764's picture is rolling vertically or is otherwise poor, adjust the orientation of the TV's antenna and ensure that all of the wired connections between the TV and other devices are secure. If picture quality is poor while using a VCR, try adjusting the VCR's tracking.
- Poor sound quality may be the result of poor antenna reception. To remedy poor sound quality, adjust the orientation of the Samsung TX-R2764's antenna. Alternatively, the broadcaster of a particular channel may be the source of the sound problem. To check if this is the case, switch to a different channel and see if the problem persists. If the TX-R2764 does not produce any sound, but the picture is still coming through, turn the TV's volume up and make sure the "Mute" setting is off.
- If the Samsung TX-R2764 does not produce picture or sound, this may be the fault of the broadcaster. Switch to a different channel and see if the problem persists. A lack of picture and sound may also be the result of having the TX-R2764 in the Video display mode. To put the TX-R2764 in TV mode, press the remote control's "TV/Video" button. If problems persist, check that the TV's antenna is securely connected, and that the TV is plugged in.
- For a Samsung TX-R2764 that won't turn on, check that the TV is plugged in and that the wall outlet is functioning. If you are trying to turn on the TX-R2764 with its remote control, ensure that the remote control contains charged batteries, and that the plus and minus ends of the batteries are aligned properly. If the TX-R2764 experiences erratic operation, the TV's user manual recommends that you unplug the TV, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then plug it in and try again.
