How to Change a Memory Card on a BlackBerry

104 8
    • 1). Turn the BlackBerry over and remove the battery cover. Some battery covers will pull right up, while others require you to push a button and slide the cover off.

    • 2). Locate the microSD card slot. On most newer BlackBerry devices it is located to the side of or just below the battery and has an image of a card next to it. On older BlackBerry devices it is located underneath the battery, so you have to pull out the battery to get to it.

    • 3). Remove the old microSD card. On newer BlackBerrys you can simply slide the card out of the slot. On older BlackBerrys you will need to push the metal mechanism on top of the card either down or to the right, depending on your BlackBerry model, to release it. The mechanism will then flip open and you can slide out the memory card.

    • 4). Slide the replacement card into the slot. On newer BlackBerrys you just have to slide the card into the opening. On older BlackBerrys you need to slide the card into the metal mechanism, then flip the mechanism down and slide it up or to the left to lock it in place. On all BlackBerry devices, slide the end of the card with the metal contacts in first, and ensure that the contacts are pointing down toward the device.

    • 5). Replace the battery, if you removed it, and the battery cover. Your BlackBerry will now have access to the new memory card.
