Ok so here it is. Sonic Producer. I have purchased many such products over the past few years, all promising to be the next big thing. Well This one promised a lot, but what I found so unique was, quite frankly, their website. It showed the software interface, along with some of the key features of the product, but the coolest thing on the site were the samples. Some really good professional sounding beats. It really gives you a great idea, first hand what to expect from the package, so make sure your watch the videos!!
So I got the software. Here are a couple of things I noticed right of the bat. It's simple interface. I have used fruity loops for years, and as a dj software it is excellent, however it is insanely complicated, extremely expensive, and their samples left much to be desired. I found myself spending more time crawling the internet looking for, and downloading samples to use in the software. You don't have to do that with Sonic Producer. They have thousands of mind blowing samples already built in to the software. Instruments you have probably never even heard of will find their way into your mix.
Another thing this software has for the virtual dj virtuoso, is it's midi and keyboard sequencer. Sounds can be programmed to each of these and used "on the fly" during a recording session. Very cool indeed, not a first on mixing programs, but it is something that all pro dj software needs. And this simple interface makes this the easiest I have used to date. Simply map a sample to it, and click the button to play it. That is it!

If you have any other mixing programs available to you, Sonic Producer will work in harmony with these. You can essentially make your own samples if you wish, and export them directly to mp3 format. You can then use these samples in other software if you wish, or burn to a CD to scratch into a mix you have already made. This was really the highlight for me about this beats software.
If there is some downsides, they are minor at worst. The learning curve is slight, but even the uninitiated should be able to pick this software up and make killer beats within just a few minutes. This is the software I used to make the beat in the youtube video below. Yes that is my beat, yes I made it with this software.
The upsides are countless. The price is insanely cheap for what you are getting, and the quality is so fantastic, this program will soon put fruityloops in the rearview. The sky is the limit and you can really produce some beautiful commercial beats with this DJing software.
