    • 1). Go to the "Developer" section of Apple's website to familiarize yourself with the applications necessary for developing and submitting new apps and to download and install any such application or tool you do not already have, including Xcode --- Apple's integrated development environment (IDE) and the most recent version of the iPhone Operating System software development kit (iOS SDK).

    • 2). Develop your app using the proper format and protocols, and use the tools provided on Apple's Developer site to put it through the various stages of testing, which involves making use of the debugging, tuning and distributing applications as well as the iOS simulator. Also test the app on a few devices before submitting it to the App Store.

    • 3). Register as a developer by creating an account in the Member Center of the Developer site. This allows you access to the App Store submission tools, as well as information for the submission and approval process for your app. When you click "Join Now" you will be taken to a page showing your options for registering, which include purchasing a developer program package for an individual or company or scrolling down to the bottom of the page to learn how to register for free.

    • 4). Study the App Store review guidelines, which cover a range of development topics and provide rules and examples of specific technologies used in creating apps. Make sure that your app complies with the stated guidelines before submitting.

    • 5). Click the links in the App Store Resource Center titled "Prepare for App Submission" and "App Store Approval Process" and follow the instructions for submitting your app and getting it approved to be an official iPhone app.
