  • 1). Measure your wrist circumference if you're using cotton rope to make your bracelet. Measure a piece of cotton rope that length, and cut it.

  • 2). Hot glue the cotton rope into a circle. Let it cool completely before moving on.

  • 3). Make a bracelet foundation if you don't have rope, a ponytail holder or bangle bracelet. Measure and cut a a scrap fabric piece as long as your wrist circumference and about 1 to 1 1/2 inches wide. The fabric can be any color or pattern because you won't see it.

  • 4). Roll the fabric tightly lengthwise, then hot glue along the seam. Let the strip dry completely, then hot glue it into a circle. Wrap the foundation in another strip of fabric if necessary for a thicker, sturdier bracelet.

  • 5). Cut a piece of fabric twice as long as your wrist circumference, and about 1/2 inch wide. Wrap the strip over, under and through the rope or fabric bracelet, bangle or ponytail holder in a looping pattern very tightly, leaving a 2 inch tail at the beginning.

  • 6). Pull the fabric tight as you wrap it, then tie a tight knot once you reach the point on the bracelet where you began wrapping. Dab hot glue on and around the knot to hold it in place.

  • 7). Tie a decorative bow with the fabric tails. Glue a gem or button in the center. Let the bracelet cool.
