    • 1). Get damp in the shower. Take dry baking soda and scrub your skin with it. The baking soda will exfoliate your skin and scrub off much of the already dead skin that's ready to slough off. This baking soda scrub can be used to get rid of streaks in your tan, but it will also lessen the tanning effect on you.

    • 2). Dampen some cotton pads with makeup remover and scrub your skin. This works best on the face and neck. For areas like the feet or your palms, use hydrogen peroxide, and the newer the bottle the better the results you're likely to have getting rid of the self-tanning cream that you have left on your skin.

    • 3). Wait. Even if you do absolutely nothing, your instant tan will go away in time. Only the top layer of your skin is tanned, and once that layer sloughs off to be replaced by new skin, the old tan will go away with it. So if you don't want to scrub yourself raw or try to drag the cream out of your skin, just give it a few days, and the tan will fade away by itself.
