How To Replace Brake Pads on a 1965 F-350
- 1). Park the vehicle on level ground and turn off its ignition. Open and secure the vehicle's hood. Locate the brake fluid reservoir in the engine compartment and loosen its lid.
- 2). Loosen the tire's lug nuts with the lug wrench. Place the jack under the truck and raise it off the ground. Raise the jack stand under the truck and raise it securely to the truck. Remove the jack. Remove the lug nuts and tire. Set both aside.
- 3). Wipe the brake dust from the brake drum and wheel.
- 4). Loosen the caliper bolts using the socket wrench and remove the brake assembly from the brake drum. Support the calipers with automotive wire to avoid damaging the brake hose.
- 5). Remove the brake shoes from the calipers.
- 6). Press the caliper piston into the calipers as you clip the new brake shoes onto the calipers.
- 7). Replace the calipers around the edge of the brake drum and replace the bolts.
- 8). Replace the wheel and lug nuts. Hand-tighten the lug nuts and raise the jack to the truck. Remove the jack stand. Lower the truck to the ground, using the jack. Tighten the lug nuts with the lug wrench.
- 9). Repeat Step 2 through 8 for the other wheels.

Tighten the brake fluid reservoir cap. Close the hood. - 11
Pump the brake pedal several times before starting the truck.
