- 1). Plug your iPod into your PC with the USB data cable that came with the iPod.
- 2). Click "Start."
- 3). Click "Computer."
- 4). Double-click on the iPod's icon. The icon will be labeled with the name you've given your iPod and will be under the category listing "Drives with Removable Storage."
- 5). Click "Tools" in the on-screen window. Then, click "Options." Click on the "View" tab. Select the option that reads "View Hidden Files and Folders," then click "OK." New folders will appear in the on-screen iPod window.
- 6). Open the folder that reads "iPod_Control." Then open the folder that reads "Music." This is where all of the music files are stored on your iPod. To transfer a song to your PC, simply click on the song and drag it onto your desktop. The song will be automatically copied.
