How to Use the Activity Indicator in the iPhone

    • 1). Press the "Home" button on your iPhone, located below the display.

    • 2). Tap the "App Store" icon on the device's home screen. Tap "Search." Type a search term, such as "activity" in the search field, and then tap "Search." Tap the name of an app for monitoring your iPhone's activity from the search results list, such as

      Activity Monitor -- Top -- Free," "Activity Monitor Touch" or "System Activity Monitor."

    • 3). Tap the price or the word "Free" next to the name of the app for monitoring your iPhone's activity, then tap "Install" and then type your Apple ID. The app downloads to your iPhone.

    • 4). Tap the icon of the app for monitoring activity on the device's home screen to launch it. Some activity-monitoring apps display all information on the screen as soon as you launch the app. Look at the list of running processes in a list, and view CPU usage broken down into such categories as "System," "User" and "Idle." The app may display disk usage or system memory with a pie chart graphic

    • 5). Tap the name of a category on the screen if your activity-monitoring app has an opening menu. For example, tap the option to display "Usage," "Processes" or "Battery" to see details about the activity you're interested in.
