- 1). Raise the hood of your 1996 Metro. Remove the screws securing the headlight bezel, using a Phillips screwdriver. There are two screws, on the top of the headlight bezel, just inside the engine compartment. Remove the headlight bezel and set it aside.
- 2). Remove the screws securing the retaining ring with a Phillips screwdriver. There is one screw on the top and one on the bottom of the retaining ring. Remove the retaining ring from the headlight assembly.
- 3). Locate the wiring harness on the rear of the headlight unit. Press the retaining clip on the wiring harness and pull the connector apart. Pull the headlight unit out of the front of the Metro.
- 4). Insert the new headlight unit into the front of the Metro. Connect the wiring harness by pressing the connector straight into the connection on the rear of the headlight unit.
- 5). Replace the retaining ring and secure it with the screws. Tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Reposition the headlight bezel and replace the screws to retain it. Tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
