Have you ever dreamed of being that guy at the beach? You know the one; he's the guy with the washboard stomach standing tall and confident getting checked out by the ladies.
Well it's possible to become that guy, but there are a few secrets to getting a six pack which make the task a lot easier.
Here are three of those secrets: (1) You don't need to do hundreds or thousands of sit-ups or stomach crunches for years on end in order to get a six pack.
Repeating these same old exercises every day is not only tedious; it's a waste of time.
Why? Well, chances are, you already have a six pack.
The problem isn't that your abdominal muscles aren't big enough, but that you can't see them! So the first secret to getting a six pack is this: You have a six pack, but you can't see it.
You simply need to remove the layer of fat that is covering it up.
(2) And here's the next secret: Ab exercises don't remove stomach fat! The human body stores fat, all of your body, but for most people particularly in the abdominal region.
When you lose weight, your body burns some of this fat.
Unfortunately, you can't choose where the fat is removed from.
You can't tell your body "Remove my stomach fat first, please!" It won't listen.
It doesn't work like that.
So doing ab exercises won't remove your stomach fat.
It might build abdominal muscle, but it won't remove abdominal fat! (3) General strength training will be of more help in getting six pack abs than doing ab exercises! Strange as it may sound, hitting the bench press or doing some squats or dead lifts is a more effective way to get a six pack than doing 2,000 crunches a day.
Why is this? The answer lies in the fat-burning power of muscle.
Muscle burns calories at a much higher rate than fat.
So, the more muscle you have, the more fat you'll burn.
When you've burned enough fat your abs will be revealed! So to get those abs showing do "big" exercises which develop the large muscles in your body.
So those are three secrets to getting a six pack.
They aren't the complete answer to the six pack question, but they are facts you need to know if you want to get that toned flat stomach that will be the envy of everyone at the beach.
