How to Use a Bluetooth Adapter
- 1). Install the Bluetooth management software that came bundled with your adapter. It should be on a CD. If you have lost the CD or are buying the adapter used, visit the support section manufacturer's website to see if there is an alternate download site.
- 2). Plug in the Bluetooth Adapter. Modern adapters use either the universal USB port, or in the case of a laptop, the ExpressPort. Simply insert the device, and wait for Windows to recognize it. Since you already downloaded the management software, no drivers will need to be downloaded.
- 3). Open the management software and put the device in "pairing" or "discovery" mode. This will allow you to sync Bluetooth-enabled headsets, controllers, printers and more with your computer. Each device you want to sync will have its own sync protocol, so make sure to check the owner's manual before beginning the process.
- 4). Exit the discovery mode on your Bluetooth management progam, and minimize it to the system tray. You should now be able to use all your Bluetooth devices.
