You have searched high and low and have finally found the perfect window treatments.
Now it is time to complete the look with the ideal set of window drapery hardware.
There are a lot of things to consider when purchasing your window hardware.
Will the window covering be over a moving door, or on a still window? Do you want the ease of motorization to open your drapery panels, or are you content opening and closing your drapery panels manually? Last, will your drapery panels open at all or will they stay in a fixed position? The answers to all of these questions will help you determine the right window hardware for your needs.
Drapery rods come in so many options today.
You can purchase curtain rods in wood, metal, iron, resin, and even bamboo.
You can get them in different diameters from as small as 1" to as large as 3".
There are special drapery rods for bay windows, traverse rods, cafe rods, and of course the traditional standard drapery rod.
The main factor in selecting your rods would be the type of window, the style of the room, and the style of the drapery panels.
Finials are the finishing touch of your curtain rods.
The decorative accents you choose can leave a lasting impression.
There are so many options when selecting finials.
You can get them in wood, metal, resin and in many different details.
There are simple round finials, which compliment a more contemporary room.
Then there are the more detailed finals with carved with multi faceted motifs.
These finals generally work best with more traditional and European decors.
Brackets are becoming more decorative as well.
You can get double brackets to hang your drapery panels, and you sheer curtains.
Again, these will come in wood, metal, iron, or resin to compliment your drapery rods and finials.
Although they are rarely seen unless your curtains are open, brackets are being offered in many decorative designs today.
If you have pleated drapes, you will need to get drapery rings, which are the final piece to the set.
The only rule to selecting rings is to make sure they are the same diameter as our drapery rod.
You can get very basic rings with the option to add the clip on the bottom edge.
There are many decorative finishes to the rings, such as carved leaves and raised decorative designs.
Holdbacks are also available in coordinating designs.
They are used to hold the drapery panels open and away from the window.
