    • 1). Begin at the front door and entryway. Hang a wreath made of gourds, leaves and berries on the door. Place a variety of sizes and colors of potted mums on the entryway steps or flanking the door. Wrap garland around a porch railing or mailbox pole. Hang an autumn flag on a flagpole.

    • 2). Create an appealing, fall-inspired entryway or foyer. Fill a vase with cut sunflowers or dried grasses. Hang a picture with a fall theme on the wall above or behind the vase. Place a container of gourds and pumpkins on a table or set it on the floor.

    • 3). Incorporate fall hues, textures and smells into living spaces. Place a quilt with fall patterns and colors over a sofa or chair. Toss pillows in assorted fall colors on the sofa. Accent a mantel or shelf with gourds, garlands and fall-scented candles. Replace framed pictures with fall wreaths or harvest tapestries. Add baskets and bowls of pine cones, acorns, walnuts and pumpkin-scented potpourri to coffee tables. Arrange coordinated, framed fall prints or pressed leaves to create a focal point on a wall.

    • 4). Bring the season's natural beauty inside. Create a cornucopia or a basket of fruits, vegetables, nuts and berries as a centerpiece for the dining room table. Empty a shelf in a hutch and create a nature scene with dried leaves, berries, twigs, pine cones and birds. Drape berry garland on hanging light fixtures and at the base of candles. Sit potted fall mums near a window to tie in outdoor colors with the room.

    • 5). Add fall elements to the kitchen. Drape garlands around shelves and hutches. Tie curtains back with berry picks or pieces of leaf garland. Set the table with coordinating fall tablecloths, runners, placements and throw rugs. Hang dried corn, silk flower picks or fall-print potholders from cabinet doorknobs. Decorate a broom with garland and silk flowers, and leave it out.

    • 6). Accent the bathroom with fall touches. Set out spice-, pumpkin- or apple-scented candles. Prop up a wreath on a shelf along with small gourds and leaves, or make an arrangement of asters, mums and leaf stems.
