    Cassette Adapter

    • 1). Turn your iPod and your car stereo off before connecting any cables to the devices.

    • 2). Plug the iPod cassette tape adapter into the headphone jack of the iPod.

    • 3). Insert the cassette side of the cassette adapter into the tape deck of the Mach 460 stereo.

    • 4). Turn on your iPod and begin playing a song. Turn the volume to about 50% because playing the iPod too loudly may cause distortion.

    • 5). Turn on your Mach 460. Press the "Tape" source button on the stereo if it is not already selected. You should hear music playing through your stereo at this point.

    • 6). Increase the volume on your iPod until you hear the music begin to distort. At this point, lower the volume slightly. Try to remember the volume of your iPod as this will be your optimal volume setting.

    FM Transmitter

    • 1). Turn off both your iPod and Mach 460 stereo.

    • 2). Plug the FM transmitter into your iPod connection port. This is on the opposite side of the headphone jack, on the bottom of the iPod. It is the same port that is used to connect your iPod to your computer.

    • 3). Turn the iPod on and the FM transmitter on. Wait for the FM transmitter to warm up and recognize that is connected to the iPod.

    • 4). Set the FM station that you want to broadcast the iPod through. Choose a station that is not used by a radio station. Many newer FM transmitters have an auto scan function that allows the transmitter to find the clearest FM station. If your transmitter has this feature, first turn on your stereo and then initiate that function by pressing the "Function" and then "Scan" button on the FM transmitter. The station displays on the LED screen of the FM transmitter.

    • 5). Tune your radio to the station you have either selected or the FM transmitter has selected. You should now hear your iPod being broadcast through that station. Remember to find the iPod's optimal volume setting by starting at 50% volume and increasing until you hear distortion.
