How to Decorate a Beetle

    • 1). Decide the theme for your car. You can decorate both the inside and out with a similar theme for a more even look. Perhaps you want to decorate your Beetle as a "Herbie the Love Bug" or perhaps you want to go all hippie. You could go with the floral theme as well. Anything goes.

    • 2). Select flowers for your vase. The New Beetle has the convenience built-in vase on the dashboard near the driver's seat. You'll want to pick flowers that go with your look. Sunflowers are wonderful. Red roses are a great choice to match cars with a red paint or elegant theme. The same can be said for pink or yellow roses.

    • 3). Choose seat covers. If you are going for the hippie theme, pick covers that have peace signs, rainbow colors and references to "flower power." You could even pick slogans like "Peace, man" or doves and the finger sign for peace.

    • 4). Pick floor mats that match the rest of your chosen decor. These could match the seat covers or the exterior. As long as it looks like a fun part of the car, anything goes here as well. It's probably best to have exactly matching seat covers and floor mats if possible. Many stores do sell sets.

    • 5). Attach an additional decoration to the back dash. Some people opt for bobble heads and others go for figurines. This is a fun way to make you smile when you look in your rear view mirror, and it may make others laugh or smile when stuck in traffic behind you.

    • 6). Move on the exterior. Your decorating can continue when you choose a license plate frame. You can pick slogans, a color that matches your car or a commercial frame that supports your business or one you like.

    • 7). Add bumper stickers to your car. These can be based upon the inner theme, your personal beliefs or your sense of humor. A Beetle holds several bumper stickers well, but it's best to keep it simple if you want to allow others a chance to read the messages that matter to you. Too many stickers tend to mute out the message of all of them with too much clutter.
