    • 1). Run the iTunes Software and double-check your iTunes library to ensure that the files you wish to restore are indeed in it. If not, they will not be restored to your iPod.

    • 2). Delete the files from your iPod if they are merely damaged or otherwise non-functional. This will allow iTunes to add them back onto your iPod during sync. If the files have been deleted instead of damaged, skip this step.

    • 3). Connect your iPod to the computer using the supplied dock-to-USB cable.

    • 4). Select your iPod from the "Devices" list in the iTunes menu if you have automatic syncing disabled. Otherwise, iTunes will sync your library with your iPod automatically when you plug it in.

    • 5). Click the "Sync" button to sync your iTunes library onto your iPod. This will restore any lost files to your iPod.
