    Simple Circle Polar Bear

    • Very small children can learn about shapes using this polar bear craft. Have students use templates of circles to cut out or cut them out ahead of time; make one large, one medium and two small circles out of white paper and five small black circles. Glue the medium white circle on the large one for the head and snout, then glue the small white circles on for ears. Use the black circles for inner ears, eyesand a nose. You can also use a paper plate for the basis of this craft instead of white construction paper.

    Wool or Felt Ornaments

    • For older children, make polar bear ornaments out of wool or felt. Draw a polar bear outline on a piece of card stock and cut it out; this will be your template. Trace lightly around the template on an old sweater or small sheet of felt and use sharp scissors to cut it out. Sew an eye and nose onto the bear using a needle and black thread. Then make a hole in the bear's back to loop a small bit of ribbon through, so the bear can hang. Tape the ornament to the front of a folded piece of construction paper for a cute card.

    Polar Bear Cup

    • Start with a Styrofoam cup or white paper cup. Cut out rounded rectangles for arms, a large circle for a head and small circles for ears from white construction paper. Glue wiggle eyes onto the head. Using a black permanent marker, draw a mouth and claws and fill in the centers of the ears. Glue the ears onto the head and the arms to the side of the upside down cup. Glue the head onto the cup near the bottom, which should be pointing upward.

    Polar Bear Den

    • Make a polar bear den out of compartments from an egg carton. Cut the compartments apart and cut a U shape out of one for the den entrance. Paint the egg carton compartments white with tempura paints. Arrange six of the compartments in a circle, including the entrance, with the U shape facing outward. Stack three more compartments on top of the first circle and then place one compartment on top of these three. Make a polar bear's head out of cotton balls or a Styrofoam craft ball and glue it in front of the entrance to the den.
