    Managing Playlists with iTunes

    • 1). Connect your iPod to your computer. Start iTunes if iTunes does not run automatically.

    • 2). Select your iPod in the "Devices" section of the navigation menu in iTunes.

    • 3). Select the "Summary" tab in the main iTunes window, and check the "Manually manage music and videos" option for your iPod. Click the "Apply" button to save the changes.

    • 4). Select a playlist from the "Playlists" section of the navigation menu, or click the "+" button at the bottom of the navigation menu to create a new playlist. Add songs to your playlist by dragging them from your iTunes library to the playlist in the navigation menu.

    • 5). Add the playlist to your iPod by selecting the playlist in the navigation menu and dragging it to your iPod in the "Devices" section of the navigation menu. ITunes automatically loads the playlist to your iPod, along with any songs that are not already on your iPod.

    • 1). Use the click wheel to browse your music library. Highlight a song you want to add to the On-The-Go playlist.

    • 2). Press and hold the middle button on the iPod. Select "Add to On-The-Go" when the menu appears, and press the middle button a second time.

    • 3). Repeat steps one and two until you've finished creating your playlist.

    • 4). Navigate to the "Playlists" section of the iPod. Select "On-The-Go" from the playlists to play your new list.

    • 1). Navigate to the "Playlists" section of your iPod.

    • 2). Select the "On-The-Go" playlist toadd songs to the On-The-Go playlist. A "+" icon appears at the top of the iPod screen to indicate that you are in On-The-Go mode.

    • 3). Browse through your music library. Select any item in your library to add it to the On-The-Go playlist. You can add individual items by selecting them one at a time, or you can add entire folders by clicking the "Add all songs" option at the top of the screen.

    • 4). Return to the "Playlists" section of your iPod, and select the On-the-Go playlist to begin playing your music.
