How to Clean Eagle 186 Wheels
- 1). Spray down the wheels with water to remove loose dirt particles, gravel and other debris.
- 2). Fill a gallon-sized bucket with water. Mix in several tablespoons of standard car wash solution. Car wash solution is made by many manufacturers, such as Meguiar's and Mothers, and can be purchased at most general retailers.
- 3). Dip your sponge into the car wash and water solution. Wipe down the flat face of the Series 186 wheel. Keep the sponge wet to reduce the risk of scratching the alloy metal's surface. After washing the face, move the sponge between the wheel's spokes to clean off any debris that may have collected there. Rinse the wheel with fresh water.
- 4). Apply an aluminum alloy polish to restore the natural gleam of the Series 186 wheel. Example products include Busch's Super Shine Alloy Polish and Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish Paste. Wrap a rag around your fingers and dab it into the polish. Smear the polish onto the wheel in a circular motion. Move the rag to expose a clean surface and rub away the polish smears with slight pressure, buffing the wheel to a shine.
- 5). Protect the alloy wheel's finish with a wheel sealant. This covers the wheel with a defensive layer of chemicals to guard against corrosion and the natural wear and tear of driving. Example products include Turtle Wax Wheel Protector and Glacier's Wheel Wax Polish & Sealant. Apply evenly with a rag and allow to air-dry.
